Innisfree’s bakery makes bread and granola for Innisfree’s houses and special events and for local churches. The enticing aromas emanating from the bakery every Monday and Thursday let everyone know that wholesome edibles will soon spill forth from the ovens.
From 50 to 65 loaves of white and whole-wheat loaves are baked weekly, including sourdough, honey whole wheat, sesame oat, and seven grain. Cookies, challah, baguettes, focaccia, and pizza dough are made as special treats.
More than 40 pounds of granola are baked and sold to local natural-foods and gourmet stores each week. Innisfree’s bakery is proud to have Whole Foods Market as its newest customer and is gearing up production to fulfill their orders.
Innisfree’s residents (coworkers) and volunteer caregivers have been contributing to a wide range of bakery jobs for almost 40 years. They mix and knead dough, measure and combine granola ingredients, and package and deliver the finished product.
Coworkers are carefully given work that is compatible with their skill levels and that gives them a sense of satisfaction. In the midst of it all, they also have fun!
