Residential Life
The mission of Innisfree Village is deeply rooted in creating a supportive and inclusive community where residents with intellectual disabilities, whom we call coworkers, can thrive, grow, and lead fulfilling lives. We offer a unique environment where coworkers can engage in meaningful work, form lasting relationships, and discover their unique talents, all while fostering their independence and personal growth. By embracing diversity and honoring each individual’s unique abilities, we aim to empower coworkers to explore their interests, develop life skills, and contribute to the community in meaningful ways.
With our lifesharing approach, dedicated volunteers and staff live and work alongside coworkers, and assist with daily living activities, community engagement, and social and emotional support. The coworker admissions process is thoughtfully designed to ensure the best fit for prospective coworkers, focusing on their needs, interests, and compatibility with the village's values and lifestyle. From initial inquiries to in-person visits, we strive to provide clear guidance and support to both applicants and their families throughout the process.
If you have further questions or inquiries please contact our Executive Director, Rorie Hutter, for more information.

Community Testimonials
“My daughters share their lives with other co-workers, and volunteers who come from all around the world. Emma and Maggie don’t always have the verbal skills to tell you about their lived experiences at Innisfree Village’s life-sharing community, but all can see their enormous smiles and excitement, and the love they have for everyone.”
“Innisfree Village is a unique environment for the support of individuals with disabilities throughout their lifetimes, based on the two key principles of life-sharing among members of the community and stewardship of the land they occupy.”
“We are a community that dedicates our hearts and time to creating not just a place of work, but a HOME for those living with intellectual disabilities. I would say that we desire greatly to throw away society’s expectation that everyone needs to fit into a box in order to be successful. At Innisfree, we strive to make everyone feel heard and loved while supporting each individual person’s strengths and weaknesses.”
