Day Program
Apply to our Day Program
The Innisfree Day Program offers a vibrant and supportive environment for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Each day, Day Coworkers engage in three meaningful workstations and come together for a shared community lunch, building connection and purpose. Participants typically attend between 2 to 4 days a week, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families are responsible for transportation, either directly or by arranging a ride through public transit services.
If you’re interested in learning more, we invite you to reach out to our Program Coordinator by phone or email. During that initial conversation, you’ll have a chance to tell us a bit about your family member and ask any questions you have—we’re here to help you explore whether Innisfree is the right fit.

The steps below will guide you through the application process—helping you navigate the process, get a sense of our community, and ensure that we have all the information needed to learn more about your family member and their needs.
SET UP A TOUR OF INNISFREE for your family and the prospective Day Coworker. Tours are typically offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday mornings, and include an invitation to join us for lunch in the Community Center. If you'd prefer, families are welcome to visit on their own first before bringing the applicant. However, a full tour with the applicant and their family is required in order to be considered for admission.
COMPLETE AN APPLICATION* online. The application link will be provided to families after initial contact is made and a tour is scheduled. Once your application is reviewed, the Day Coworker Program Coordinator will typically arrange a follow-up phone call. Please note that we have a waiting list, and your position on the list is determined by the date we receive your application. *The same application is used for both the Residential and Day Programs. You can specify on the form whether you're applying to one or both programs.
SCHEDULE ONE OR MORE DAY VISITS so the applicant can participate in workstations and experience the program firsthand. Early visits may include a parent or family member staying on-site, depending on the applicant’s comfort level. However, at least one successful visit without a parent present is required before moving forward in the application process. After the visit(s), the Program Coordinator will provide a summary based on feedback from the workstation staff. This step gives everyone—the program, the applicant, and the family—a chance to honestly assess whether the Day Program is a good fit.
THE WAITING LIST currently has several families waiting for the opportunity to move forward on admission. When a spot becomes available, we contact families in the order their applications were received. If a family chooses to defer and wait for a future opening, we continue down the list. Once we reach a family ready to move forward, we begin the next steps in the admission process.
BEFORE ADMISSION, we usually arrange an additional visit of 1-4 days to gather the most current observations of the applicant. These visits allow the Program Coordinator and Workstation Heads to create a personalized schedule that best supports both the new Day Coworker and the workstations that have space for another coworker at that time. In some rare cases, significant changes in behavior, mobility, or self-care skills may affect a prospective coworker’s ability to participate in the Day Program. If the Program and Workstation Coordinators determine that the Day Program is no longer an appropriate placement, we will notify you immediately.

2 days/week: $734/month
3 days/week: $1,099/month
4 days/week: $1,437/month
Innisfree does not want the program cost to be a barrier to any applicant, so we are in the beginning stages of a new way to view the cost of our day coworker program. We have a new Community Access Scholarship Fund from which we can provide full or partial tuition, based on financial need. Financial need is evaluated through a 3rd party company with whom we have a contract.
STARTING THE DAY COWORKER PROGRAM includes establishing a schedule, arranging transportation, choosing a start date that suits everyone, and finally welcoming our new community member. We encourage day coworkers and their families to consider themselves part of the Village and take part in community activities and celebrations, such as Family Day and Junefest.
