Celebrate the Holidays with Innisfree!
How do we celebrate the Holiday season at the village? As you saw from our previous post we kick off the fall season with an equinox celebration, discussing the past year’s events and enjoying some home-grown goodies. In November we have our Family Day, a special day for parents, siblings, and family members of coworkers and volunteers to come celebrate the community and enjoy a meal together! On Thanksgiving, many community members come together to celebrate Thanksgiving and share in a feast! The turkey for our feast is raised and processed on the farm, we eat vegetables from the garden, and many bring homemade sweets.
(Above: First 3 photos from our Family Day event, second 3 are from our Open House, and last 3 are from our Thanksgiving gathering) On December 7th we had our annual Open House complete with a wreath-making workshop, craft fair, children’s crafts, and tours of the village. Below, photos of Laurel House who ventured out to get their Christmas tree and to participate in the Charlottesville Toy Drive. They really got into the holiday spirit!
Then, the annual Holiday Party before a two-week break from workstations where we exchanged gifts in a Secret Santa gift exchange, decorated cookies, sang Karaoke and had a great time celebrating the season together! (photos below)
We wish you a joyful and safe holiday season, and a restful entry into the new year! We are grateful for our community near and far and thank you for all the ways you support Innisfree throughout the year through financial contributions, reading and sharing out posts online or paying us a visit in person!
